Phase 1 Opening of the Gurukula - February 2019 - date to be finalized
The Gurukul campus is situated on a 0.75 acre tract of sea side land in Uitvlugt, West Coast Demerara, Guyana. There will be two principal buildings being built in two phases.
Phase 1 is comprised of a 4500 SF concrete structure designed to last 100 years and capable of an occupancy of 300 congregants. It will be the Veda Mandir or Sanctuary. This structure is scheduled to be declared open very soon.
Phase 2 is comprised of a 12 000 square foot concrete structure also designed to last 100 years. This educational building shall house three floors comprising Library, Class rooms and Administrative rooms, a residential quarter for the resident Acharya and other teachers, a dormitory for resident students and a large kitchen-cum-dining hall to cater for up to 200 persons. This structure is scheduled to be completed in 2020.
